The Italian BrideANGELS & DEMONS:
The Good, the Bad
& the Devil Baby

Available for Private Tours
Hosted by Ursula Bielski

Chicago's ghostlore is riddled with religious wraiths. Tales of cloven-hooved strangers, winged wanderers, and--famously--the spawn of the Devil himself. Come along on a spiritual journey as we explore the saintly and the sinister among some of the city's most cherished tales. We'll tell of Julia Buccola Petta, the sainted Italian Bride, whose body was miraculously preserved after a tragic young death. We'll hear of the night Satan came to dance with the young girls of Bridgeport--and of the literal mark he left behind. We'll revisit the supernatural life of Father Arnold Damen, and hear how he may have divinely influenced the Great Chicago Fire--and how he still haunts the church and school he founded.

We'll view the church where more than 200 parishoners claimed to witness a demon approach the altar one night to receive Holy Communion--an event published in the Chicago Tribune, and you'll hear how the Juvenile Courts are haunted by one of the most influential bishops Chicago has ever known. We'll visit one of the most haunted houses in Chicago, cradle of the Rosemary's Baby story, and you'll be stunned at what stands today on the birth site of the founder of the Church of Satan himself, Anton LaVey.

$45 per person includes full tour with Ursula Bielski and special guests, prizes and snacks on bus.  BYOB allowed on bus, but please, no hard coolers. Tour includes one tavern stop (Cash bar) but 12 and over ok.

HAUNTINGS
of ARCHER AVENUE:

Resurrection Mary & Beyond

Sunday, July 14, 2013
1-6pm

Hosted by Ursula Bielski with Special Guests

Few roads in the world rival the super-haunted reputation of Chicago's Archer Avenue, home to some of the city's most legendary ghost stories, including the most famous Vanishing Hitchhiker on earth, Resurrection Mary. This road was constructed by poor Irish immigrants --builders of the controversial and ill-funded Illinois & Michigan Canal-- who laid down the road over an ancient Indian trail known for its spiritual powers. The slavelike conditions of their labor, their deaths from hunger, thirst, disease and violence: all live on in the deep folklore of this storied region. We'll visit the Back of the Yards neighborhood, home to Mary Bregovy, believed by many to have been the ill-fated phantom in life, pass her home on South Damen Avenue--and the funeral home where her body lay--, continue to Summit, Illinois, the hometown of little Ana Norkus, killed on the eve of her thirteenth birthday, who many claim as the ghost in question. We'll visit the cemeteries of Archer Road, look for the ghost light of Maple Lake, and hear of the secrets of Red Gate Woods. Finally, we'll lift a Bloody Mary and share some sustenance at Chet's Melody Lounge, across from the gates of Resurrection Cemetery, where Mary herself is said to have sought shelter one blustery winter's night.

This tour is open to all ages, but you may also BYOB on this very special tour. Please no hard coolers.  $55 per person includes full tour and transportation and prizes plus appetizers at Chet's. BYOB ok on the bus.  Cash bar at Chet's.

M  O  R  E   O N   O U R   T O U R S

The Chicago Hauntings Ghost Tours are conducted aboard the city's only "Ghost Bus," and each lasts approximately 2.5 hours, visiting an array of authenticated haunted sites throughout the city. This is not just a driving tour where you'll ride for hours and simply look out the windows of the bus. Rather, we depart the bus several times throughout each tour at some of Chicago's most actively haunted sites, inviting guests to investigate a particular haunted Chicago location for themselves.

We don't provide an itinerary because we like to vary the routes, and also because we like to throw in a few surprises. But among the more popular locations we visit include the Fort Dearborn Massacre site, Iroquois Theater & Death Alley, the Eastland Disaster site, haunted Streeterville, the death site of Resurrection Mary, Hull House, Harpo Studios, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre site, the abandoned City Cemetery, H.H. Holmes' "glass bending factory," the Tonic Room, The Biograph, and many others -- some notorious, some not as well-known - but but all researched and documented for their authenticity by the Chicago Hauntings team.  We know you'll enjoy them.

We can never guarantee any of the sites on the tour will produce an active supernatural occurrence -- nor can we guarantee they won't. So be warned: strange things have occurred on our tours in the past! See our gallery of possible ghost pictures taken on the tours!

Below, Ursula Bielski and a Chicago Hauntings guest enjoy the tour.
